The golden glow

With amazed gaze
I stare at thee,
I know not where thou art
Yet in my ignorance
I try to fathom
And had been trying to
Since mother nature
Bestowed in me
Conscious to marvel
At thy golden glow.

In my prime,
I dance in thy shine,
And hold hands
Of my ignorant lover,
Whilst thou set o’er
The horizon..
Blurring behind,
The palm’s hind,
And the outline
of the boats,
Whilst the birds sing
Their melodious notes,
As they return home.

Ages past,
As my bones rust,
With wrinkled skin,
I feel thy warmth within,
And, with half dimmed vision
I still marvel
At thy golden glow.
Yet thou
Not a day old
Still shine thy ethereal
Brilliance upon us
In thy monotone fashion
From east to west,
And here thus
Ends my quest.
